Finland has enjoyed an unusually mild start to the year and lower electricity prices. The energy weather has been favorable, but winter is not over yet. February can turn colder at any moment, which can quickly push electricity prices higher. Long, cold and windless winter periods, Nordic hydropower supply, transmission capacity, maintenance or outages at power plants and electricity demand in Central Europe all affect future prices and adequacy.

With the HattiWatt spot-price electricity watch, it is easy to follow changes in electricity prices. Have you already downloaded the app from your app store? HattiWatt already has thousands of satisfied users on both iPhone and Android, and the app has been downloaded around 10,000 times.

At the end of last year HattiWatt was included in a product review by MikroBitti magazine. The magazine compared HattiWatt with three other apps that monitor spot-price electricity. We received three and a half stars out of five and placed second in the review. Many thanks to MikroBitti for the recognition.

The playful widgets received a special mention in the review. The traffic-light widgets work well on both iPhone and Android, and the iPhone lock screen widgets were highlighted as being in a class of their own. We are happy that the widget work has succeeded. The review also wished for a few more features, and development continues in that direction while keeping HattiWatt simple to use.

We have also received development ideas through user feedback. Thank you to everyone who has sent feedback. You can contact us by email, through social media or via HattiWatt.com. We also warmly welcome ratings and reviews in the app stores.

Users have asked, among other things, for more hourly information about changing electricity production methods, the option to add transfer fees and taxes to the electricity price, and more historical data. We are genuinely grateful for all the feedback and have collected these ideas for future development.

Feedback from HattiWatt users has been mainly positive. Users especially like the widgets, the simplicity of the app and how easy it is to use. Because of this strong positive response, development continues and a new version update is coming soon. We are adding more functionality without giving up clarity and ease of use.

One family of four living in a 240-square-meter home told us their December spot-price electricity bill was only 360 euros, even though they had prepared for a bill of 1,500 to 2,000 euros. With help from HattiWatt, they saved well over 1,000 euros. These are exactly the kinds of stories HattiWatt was created for: to help people limit electricity use and shift consumption to cheaper hours.

HattiWatt is present on several social media channels. You can find us on LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. Follow us there, because we will announce the next version release date on those channels so you can be among the first to try it.

Sunny February wishes from Maria and @hattiwattapp
