HattiWatt
How does HattiWatt work?
HattiWatt is a mobile app that follows hourly price movements on the Nord Pool electricity exchange. The ongoing energy crisis has caused major changes in electricity prices and availability. The price per kilowatt-hour can vary by almost a euro during a single day. During winter, electricity may need to be rationed, making it especially important to follow electricity consumption at home.
The HattiWatt mobile app is available for iOS in the App Store and for Android in Google Play. The iOS app also works on iPad. At the moment the app is intended for use in Finland. Text is available in Finnish or English depending on the phone language settings. The app does not require an account or registration. It is guided and simple to use.
With the app, saving electricity can be enjoyable and the whole family can take part. HattiWatt includes fun traffic-light widgets. One of the best iOS features is the lock screen widget introduced with iOS 16. You do not even need to unlock the phone to see the hourly electricity price on the screen. There are three different lock screen widgets.

The HattiWatt main page has an hourly electricity price chart showing prices up to the next 24 hours. Prices update once a day. The chart makes it easy to plan your electric day. HattiWatt also lets you create price alerts. You can set the alert values yourself, though the default values work well for most users. HattiWatt sends a notification when the price moves above or below the set limit. The notification stays visible on the phone until it is dismissed, and notifications can also appear on Apple Watch.
HattiWatt's traffic lights make the app unique and inviting to use. Download your own electricity price watch to your phone too.
